Blizzard Bag Day 1
Grade 3
Reading
- Read a “just right” book (book that can be read on your own) for at least 20 minutes.
- Fill out the Reading Response Activity on your Kuno (or on paper from your Blizzard Bag) filling out the “Story Map” by describing the setting, characters, and the main events that happen in the “beginning, middle, and end of the story. Make sure you write in complete sentences please.
- Handwriting: Use the handwriting app on your Kuno for 10 minutes or trace and write on a practice sheet from your Blizzard Bag.
- Spelling: We have choosen one of the five activities listed here below and included it in today’s packet. Please complete the one included for this packet using this week’s spelling list. (If you haven’t gotten a list this week, practice one of the lists from the “Most Commonly Misspelled Words”provided in your Blizzard Bag.

- 1*Type your words 3 times each.If you want an added challenge make each of the three words a different color, font and/or font size.

- 3*Using a spelling illustration sheet, draw a picture for 9 of your words. Remember to write the word in each box with your picture.

Writing:
- Write a letter. Pretend your teacher has “The Magic School Bus” to use. Write a letter to your teacher describing where you would like the class to go, and what you would like to learn, and why. Make sure it is in the correct letter set up or form, also it should be at least one page long.
Math:
- 1.Fact Practice- Go into Moby Max or Wowzers Fact Practice for 10 minutes OR from the Blizzard Bag, choose one of the fact practice papers.
- 2.Play an Everyday Math Game from your Blizzard Bag
- 3.Do at least one of the provided review sheets.
P.E. (If you have P.E. scheduled today, please follow these directions.)
- Do 20 minutes of exercise. List your activities on a piece of paper. Examples (sledding, shoveling, building a fort, sit-ups, dancing, jumping rope, etc.)
- For Indoor Activity Fun: Log on to your cinnamon sticks (curriculum loft ). Go to Madison PE . Open Blizzard Bag Folder.
